Colts rise continues
- Sunday, 13 May 2012
The Lions Colts have resumed their rise in form with their second season win against the Swan Districts today.
The Lions put on an impressive performance in the second half, booting ten goals to five to run out 11.9 (75) to 15.13 (103) victors.
Subi dominated possession with 36 more disposals than their opponents, Kyle Halligan the notable ball winner with 30 possessions and a goal.
On the goal kicking front, Michael Wood had his biggest bag of the season with four joined by Mitch Harvie, Alex Sheed and the returning Rhys Waters who all had two.
Kyle Halligan is having a break-out season. His 30 possession tally in round seven the best so far. A good user of the ball and a very important part of the Lions scoring tally, Halligans pace and ball use on the outer wings has proven dominant.
Charles Le Fanu:
Le Fanu is probably one of the most consistent players in the Colts squad at the moment. A fantastic competitor and prolific ball winner, he’s becoming an integral part of a young Lions midfield.
The lads from Kalgoorlie Dom and Alex Sheed put on a clinic in this one, gathering 49 disposals and three goals between them. Dom Sheed has been under the spotlight in recent weeks with some outstanding form, but an onlooker would have to give trumps to Alex in this one adding two goals from a roving position.
The Lions play their best football when the run comes of the half back. Declan Jackson and Kobie Somers are extremely important in nullifying the long ball and releasing the pace the Lions have in the midfield. The
