Bristow Top of the Class

On Friday, 17 August 2012 the WAFC hosted its annual Coles AFL School Ambassador Awards Night at Pattersons Stadium. The night recognised the outstanding contributions made by AFL School Ambassadors throughout the state in 2012.

During the night it was revealed that there were five finalists from the Subiaco District, further highlighting the excellent work that Subiaco’s AFL School Ambassadors have been doing in their schools.

The five finalists from the Subiaco District were:

John Batten, Warwick SHS, for the Outstanding Service as a Coles AFL School Ambassador Award.

Greg Perry, Davallia PS, for the Primary School Coles AFL School Ambassador of the Year Award.

David Traynor, John Septimus Roe ACS, Outstanding Female AFL Program Award.

Jason Bristow, Balga SHS, for the Outstanding Indigenous AFL Program Award.

Allison McAuliffe, Osborne Park PS, for the Outstanding Multicultural AFL Program Award.

The Subiaco District is proud to announce that Jason Bristow was the recipient of the Outstanding Indigenous AFL Program Award for 2012. Jason has played an integral part in delivering the Subiaco Football Club’s ‘Success Through Sport’ program at Balga SHS. The program aims to reengage at risk Aboriginal Youth through sport, using football as its main tool.

The Subiaco District and the Subiaco Football Club would like to congratulate all of our finalists for 2012 and thank all of our Coles AFL School Ambassadors for the hard work and effort they put into promoting AFL at their schools.
