Hayden Kennedy and Dom Sheed have been included in the West Australian squad for this year’s National 18’s championship.
The Kalgoorlie boys both originate from the same club, Mines Rovers, and will be looking to make their town and club proud when Western Australia faces the rest of the country in June.
Dom Sheed played in an exciting 2012 Colts group as a sweeping midfielder before being promoted to senior football after round nineteen.
Sheed has become a steady contributor for the league midfield and stands as the youngest player currently playing league football for Subiaco.
The highly appraised Hayden Kennedy has gained a lot of recognition for his hard midfield play in 2013, but a round three elbow injury against East Perth has kept him on the sidelines. Kennedy is expected to return against Peel this week which will help him gain momentum before a possible WA start.
The two will undergo a string of pre-season training and conditioning led by WA head coach Michael Pratt.
This will include leadership, nutrition and education sessions to prime West Australia’s best before they take on Tasmania on June 2nd.
