The road to September

The Subiaco Colts face a cut-throat run to the finals in 2013 sitting fourth on the ladder on percentage.
The Lions have been left suspended in fourth place after three consecutive losses; now finding themselves battling with East Fremantle to stay in the top half.
With only four games left in the 2013 season, Subi have their September plans in their own hands.
THE RUN HOME:
The Lions are set to face the second placed Bulldogs as their first challenge of finals legitimacy. The southern based side have only lost five games this year; but one of them was against the Lions; which will give head coach Steve Armstrong optimism.
Boasting a range of State 18’s representatives and a fast game style; the Bulldogs will prove to be a season defining challenge for the Lions.
Second on the list will be co-tenants; the un-predictable Royals. Although Subiaco well and truly had the wood over East Perth earlier in the year, the Royals have shown they are capable of grit; belting East Fremantle last month and testing South Fremantle last week.
The Lions will have to be wary of the young Royals in this Medibank Stadium rivalry.
Peel Thunder will be the Lions third road block on the way to September; and like East Perth, can be unpredictable. The Thunder were unbelievably the first team to beat league leaders Claremont in 2013, upsetting the Tigers with a 23 point victory. Although thoroughly out of finals contention, the Thunder will be looking to claim more scalps on the run home.
The Lions have won both encounters with Peel Thunder in 2013 and will look to continue the trend in Round 23.
In a scheduling quirk the Lions will face East Perth again in the last round of the season. This could prove to be the decider for the Lions and the Royals will be determined to have the last laugh.
You would say the Lions will need to win both encounters with East Perth if their hoping to make the top four.
Come watch the Lions embark on the road to September this Saturday as they take on the South Fremantle Bulldogs at Medibank Stadium. Kick Off 9:10
