The Colts are set to face Claremont in a preliminary final this weekend for a shot to play in the 2013 WAFL Grand Final.
The Lions will be full of confidence after a comprehensive victory over Perth in an Elimination final; but will enter as underdogs against the table topping Tigers.
Subiaco are yet to beat Claremont in 2013 losing all three encounters between the sides this year.
But head coach Armstrong will be buoyed with fielding an almost full strength side on Sunday; with a couple of players in contention to return.
V FOR VERMEERSCH
Ryan Vermeersch has proven himself as an X-factor for the Lions with some dominant performances at half-forward. The young utility was instrumental in the 42-point win against Perth in the first final with his vertical leap and disposal. Vermeersch will have to fire again against the most disciplined defensive group in Colts football.
The Colts pulled off their best quarter of the year in the first against Perth. The electric start led to nine unanswered goals and an uncompromising 64 point lead at half time. Claremont are a side that tend to grind down opponents with consistent pressure; so the Lions will need to start fast and establish an early lead to match the Tigers.
A huge responsibility comes down to ruck duo Adam Creeper and Jordan Bestry this weekend as they battle AFL Draft candidate Darcy Cameron. Creeper and Bestry will need to work around the WA 18’s Representative to give their midfield first hands on the ball. Subiaco staff will also look to continue the ruck duo's rotations through the forward line with both Creeper and Bestry proving to be effective around the goals against Perth.
Kick Off: 9:05 am
