The Lions have gathered some much needed momentum going into the finals after edging East Fremantle by 25 points.
The last WAFL game of the 2014 season provided a heated contest between the finals contenders with Subiaco prevailing with a superior last quarter.
Captain Kyal Horsley continues to dominate with another 30+ disposal game whilst Justin Joyce gathered 28 disposals looked the most dangerous passing into the forward 50.
Shane Yarran’s return was also welcomed by the Lions as the South Mandurah sharp-shooter slotted three goals alongside key forward Matt Boland who also struck three.
The Lions showed resilience to beat the third placed Sharks even if periods of play didn’t go their way. The sign of a good team is the ability to win despite being under the weather.
Subiaco had lost their last two games and multiple key players but managed to handle the circling Sharks.

Alliston “Buddy” Pickett made his league return after spending a year away from football. Pickett’s opportunity arose when injuries denied George Hampson and Chris Deluca spots in the final regular season game. The forward had been building form in the reserves and has the potential to be very deadly around goals; he just needs to develop the finishing touch.
Thomas Smith achieved his first league game for the Subiaco Lions after an outstanding year playing in the reserves midfield. Smith is a well-built on-baller who re-located from Ballarat in the VFL last year to further his footballing opportunities. Smith finished with eight disposals and four tackles
Every time the Lions face East Fremantle they know they’re in for a tough battle with the O’Brien brothers. Rory and Brock gathered 57 disposals and 12 marks between them as tried to end the Sharks season with a bang. They did their usual amount of damage against the Lions but the home side managed to negate the two in a crucial last quarter to record the victory.
QBE MAN OF THE MATCH
This week's QBE Man of the Match goes to Bradley Stevenson after an outstanding return to Subiaco's defense. The veteran starred for the Lions with 20 disposals and multiple defensive marks. Congratulations to Thomas Gooding for correctly guessing this week's winner, the Subiaco Football Club will be in contact shortly.
