The Subiaco Lions will be in a familiar place on Sunday with a sudden death Preliminary Final against East Fremantle.
The Lions have played seven finals series over the last ten years and will set their sights on the unpredictable Sharks for a chance to attempt their 12th WAFL Premiership.
History favours the boys in the gold and maroon with victories in two of their last three Preliminary finals including out-lasting cross-town rivals West Perth in 2011.
There are eight players present in the Subiaco side that booked their place in the 2011 Grand Final with Shaun Hilderbrandt, Abe Davey, Chris Phelan, Brad Stevenson, Clancy Wheeler, Jason Bristow, current Captain Kyal Horsley and defensive veteran Darren Rumble remaining.
Incredibly Rumble is set to line up in his 18th WAFL finals game in his 12 season.
“Last week was a massive learning experience for our guys. Finals are cut throat and there’s no second chances now.” Jarrad Schofield
Subiaco had 14 playing in their first WAFL final in the 32-point defeat against the Royals and the Lions are set to learn from their mistakes.
The Lions will face the East Fremantle Sharks at Medibank Stadium; bounce-down at 2:05.
