Meet The Recruits: Scott Hancock
- Saturday, 07 February 2015
Hancock is already well acquainted with the Subiaco Lions, but so far it’s been from the other side of ball.
Scott Hancock was a part of the East Fremantle Sharks outfit that lost by five points in a nail-biting semi-final against the Lions last year and we’re excited to have him on our side in 2015.
Hancock is a quick, gritty midfielder who averaged 17 touches a game last year for the Sharks.
The 22 year old emerged as a prominent feature for the Sharks in 2013 and was a part of the WA State 16’s and 18’s during his development at East Fremantle.
Hancock was delighted to join the Lions and hopes to contribute to another finals run in 2015.
Q&A with SCOTT HANCOCK
The boys have been calling me Handy or Wristy, not sure if you can run that but. But Wristy is what I’ve always gone by.
Why do you love football?
I love the team environment. Playing with a group of guys that want to achieve the same goals and to really enjoy the game and succeed together.
First impression of the Subiaco Lions?
The professionalism is incredible. It’s been really good from the top to the bottom. You look at a guy like Darren Rumble who’s won five premierships and he hasn’t missed a single session. The standards have really stood out.
What are your goals for 2015?
I’m looking forward to earning my spot and getting a game first. But hopefully I can get some momentum and help Subiaco go back to back. Consecutive premierships are a really hard task and I hope I contribute to some wins.
