Subiaco un-veiled an eight-man leadership team at the club’s opening night at Subi Sports Bar on Saturday.
Kyal Horsley will be returning as captain joined by five-time premiership player Darren Rumble as vice-captain.
Veteran midfielder Chris Phelan was elevated into the leadership group alongside Lions youngsters Rhys Waters and Scott Worthington.
The leadership group also has a distinct Victorian flavor with highly revered recruits Wayde Twomey, Lachlan Delahunty and Leigh Kitchin completing the Lions leaders for 2015.
Jarrad Schofield was ecstatic with the amount of players that showed leadership qualities over the off-season and is confident they can guide another successful Lions campaign.
“I was impressed with the amount of guys that showed leadership over the off-season so we went with an extended eight man group again,
“With all the roster changes and retirements we knew change was coming with the leaders and I’m confident the players chosen can guide us in the right direction this season.” Said Schofield
COLTS LOOK TO BEVERLEY
The Colts appoint 16-year-old Jack Beverley to lead the U18’s unit amongst an eight-man leadership group.
Beverley impressed in his first year of Colts in 2014 and showed maturity beyond his years in the backline.
The Sorrento-Duncraig product will be supported by Ryan Borchet as vice-captain, a young talented forward that made the move from Kalgoorlie last year.
Thomes Lowndes was elevated to deputy vice-captain and Joshua Hatch, Ethan Burnett, Mckenzie Lawrence and Liam Hooper make up the remainder fo the leaders.
