Subi Golf Day grows
- Thursday, 28 May 2015
Subiaco’s annual golf day continues to grow after 18 teams participated at the Lakelands Country Club last week.
The football club utilised the state bye-week to host their golf day, which spanned over 18 holes in the cities North.
Subi’s business manager Travis Kalin was pleased to see the initiative continue and expand.
"It was a fun day for everyone to get out and enjoy themselves. It was beautiful weather and we had about 70 players having a hit, said Kalin
It’s a good opportunity for the club to catch up with the sponsors, members and stakeholders in a less formal environment."
The Golf Day has been a highlight of the Subiaco events for a couple of years now and Kalin is excited to see it grow into the future.
"There was a couple of Golf Days before I arrived in 2011 but since then we've made it an annual initiative.
"We had two years where the day was down on numbers but we’ve got the price structure right and found some really good courses,
"We’ve also set up a committee which includes head coach Jarrad Schofield, board member Tony Fullgrabe, Football Manager Luke Sanders, Corporate Manager Pia Klymiuk and myself to get a wider gauge of what our groups and associates want out of the day.”
"We're hoping to make it a day everyone marks on the Subi calendar. Now it's a regular fixture we hope to build it and get more people involved. The more people we have the more we're able to do in regards to prizes and benefits.
The team format also makes it easy to participate with the focus on everyone enjoying themselves.
"The goal is for everyone to have fun. The structure is set up so you play in a team of four and pick the best shot from the tee. It suits anyone from intermediate to pro so we hope to see more people joining us next year,
The Subiaco Football Club thank everyone that participated and the Lakelands Country Club for hosting the 2015 Golf Day.
