SFC 2015: Round 22 Preview

Subiaco will host East Fremantle this Saturday for their last home game of the 2015 WAFL season.
The Lions have already secured the minor premiership and a first round bye and will utilise the last two games of the season to refine the starting line-up.

The Sharks have been dashed from the finals equation after capitulating go mid-season. East Fremantle parted ways with their coach Steve Malaxos and have lost their last 11 games in a lack-lustre campaign.
The Sharks are playing for pride at this point at the season and will be looking to avoid a big loss to the reigning premiers.
Subiaco will try to integrate a host of returning injured players in the next two weeks with a couple of important names set to return.
Dave Madut and Shane Yarran both avoided serious injury in last week’s win at Perth and should line up again for the Lions before the season end.
Brett Mahoney, James Garcia, Reece Blechynden, Rhys Waters and Scott Worthington will be also be managed back into action from their individual injuries.
The Lions will celebrate journeyman Brett Robinson’s 100th WAFL game on the weekend permitting the premiership player gets up. Robinson tore a ligament in his foot mid-year but continues to play under the advice of Subiaco’s doctors. Robinson is chasing his second WAFL premiership after winning one with Wayde Twomey in 2010 with Swan Districts.
Subiaco have re-gathered their decisive nature going forward and shredded Perth by 93 points last week. This doesn’t bode well for an East Fremantle side struggling to find goals. The Sharks kicked their biggest tally since Round 10, (12.8 80), against Claremont last week but don’t have consistent goal-kickers. The Sharks have only managed 44 goals over the last six weeks… Subi forward Shane Yarran has 44 on the season.
The Sharks will also have to over-come their most baron WAFL hunting ground to record a victory over the Lions. East Fremantle have only won four games out of 19 against Subiaco at Leederville Oval since 2004 and Saturday looks like it will offer little opportunity to buck the trend.
