Big numbers for SFC
Wednesday, 28 September 2016
The Subiaco Football Club would like to thank all the members, family and friends involved in making season 2016 exciting and rewarding.
The club has been amazed with the support this year and words cannot describe the appreciation of your unwavering contributions.
“To our fans, club and board. We’re gutted with the Grand Final, it’s obviously a super disappointing result. But we love you guys and the support you give us. We’ll be back next year.” - SFC captain Kyal Horsley
Despite a somber ending to the season the club has observed a host of encouraging signs over 2016.
Subiaco ran a host of events, witnessed increase in public interest and television ratings and hosted one of the highest rated Channel 7 games in Round 18 against South Fremantle. The Lions social media platforms also sky-rocketed as the younger generations discover the WAFL.
“In 2016; we’ve managed to incorporate game-days with our principle partners QBE, we hosted annual events Members Appreciation Day and Good Friday and we also took a game to our district in Kingsway Reserve,
“We’ve witnessed an all round increase in interest and engagement with the Subiaco Football Club and they’re promising indicators for the future.” Said Business Development Manager Travis Kalin
The goal for the club now is to use the growing momentum to encourage people to get on board. Despite the promising signs; Kalin re-iterated the importance of a solid member base.
“Our membership base is strong and steady but we would love to see it increase further in 2017. The league is amidst a transition period and the support of members and die-hards are crucial in driving the Mighty Lions forward,
“Let’s make 2017 our biggest and best year yet. Subiaco isn’t only a sports team and a club; it’s a family of passionate people from a multitude of backgrounds and we hope to see more getting involved this season.” Added Kalin
