Thursday, October 11, 2018 - 1:30 PM

The Subiaco Football Club is delighted to announce that Michael Farmer is set to become the club’s next Football Manager following the impending departure of current Football Manager Daniel VIdovich.

Farmer who has been the Subiaco Talent Manager for the last two seasons, steps into the role with Vidovich set to pursue opportunities outside the football industry.

It is another reward for recent strong performances and efforts by Farmer who has been instrumental in the turnaround of the Subiaco Colts and Talent programs to become a benchmark club for talent development.

For Famer it is a natural progression and the opportunity to continue advancing his career with Subiaco.

“I am very excited to be able to continue my career with the Subiaco Football Club,” Farmer said.

“It is a great opportunity to progress my career with such a successful club, in a professional environment.”

Farmer is the second key appointment in as many days, after Beau Wardman was announced as Subiaco League Coach yesterday.

Together Farmer and Wardman have built a strong partnership, showing outstanding results with player development while instilling a culture reminiscint of the Subiaco senior squad within talent squads.

For Farmer the opportunity to continue to work with Wardman is an exciting part of the new challenge.

“I look forward to progressing and working alongside Beau Wardman again after building a strong relationship through the talent program,” Farmer said.

“It is exciting to be able to look to bring the success we have had within Subiaco’s talent program through to the senior program.”

Having also built a strong relationship with outgoing Football Manager Daniel Vidovich, Farmer is thankful for the opportunity that he will be commencing in.

“I have been fortunate to work closely with Daniel Vidovich over the past two seasons and I will look to maintain the amazing results that he has achieved in the role,”

“The biggest challenge is to maintain the way the club operates and ensure we continue to strive for the high standards that have underpinned this club and its culture over this golden period.”

Indeed ensuring a smooth transition of changing league coach and football manager, is paramount as the club eyes towards 2019 and embarking on another successful season.

Farmer recognises the importance of building strong relationships with all stakeholders at the club.

“I look forward to working with some more of the quality support staff that give so generously to our club,” Farmer said.

“I also look forward to working with our current playing and coaching group to ensure that we continue to be successful on and off field.”

The Subiaco Football Club again congratulates Michael on his appointment.
