Ellis pinches accolade

SUBIACO 16s Development Squad forward Liam Ellis booted 17 goals in the final round of the Goldfields Football League to win the colts goal kicking.

Ellis is a 6' 3" key forward from Mines Rovers Colts in Kalgoorlie and played a part in the 2011 Development Squad.

After starting the day 10 goals behind the leader, Ellis booted 17.4 and with the leader only able to manage six, Miller pinched the award by a goal.

It led his team the Diorites to a big 24.9 (153) to 10.6 (66) win over Kambalda.

Luke Spooner was leading the goal kicking to start the day but could only manage six majors in his team's 57-point win, 13.12 (90) to 4.9 (33), over Boulder.

Spooner finished on a season total of 62 goals one behind Ellis.

Ellis will look to move to Perth next year to be a part of Subiaco's colts set up and could have won the accolade more comfortably but showed his versatility by spending time in defence when his team was crippled by injury earlier in the season.
