Subiaco are poised to bury some demons when they take on Peel Thunder at Bendigo Bank Stadium on Saturday.

On the back of a 41 point win over South Fremantle the Lions now have the chance to rectify an alarming statistic; the team hasn’t recorded back to back wins in more than 12 months.

Last season’s round 5 win over East Fremantle marked the last time the lions tasted consecutive victories

Recent history isn’t on Subiaco’s side given Peel has toppled the Lions in their last two meetings including last season’ 52 point drubbing in round 23 at Bendigo Bank Stadium.

Ryan Herring played 26 games for Peel over two seasons but has since made himself confortable in maroon and gold. Fish can expect plenty of attention from some old team-mates.

Hayden Crozier continues to press for Fremantle selection. Pitted against a formidable Claremont midfielder last week, the 19 year-old collected an impressive 34 disposals and kicked a goal in his side’s hard fought 17 point loss. He could find himself on the end of a tight Rob Forrest tag.

While it’s easy to write the perennial wooden spooners off, Lions Coach Jarrad Schofield will no doubt be warning his troops of their opposition’s talent filled list.

Fremantle’s reserves side is capable of playing match-winning football and it’s only a matter of time before their game plan starts to click.
