Perth has defeated a gallant Subiaco by 25 points in round 9 of the 2013 WAFL season.

The Lions tried hard for three quarters but the Demons kicked the last five goals of the game to win 18.7 (115) to 13.12 (90).

Subiaco started the game slowly, conceding the opening two goals of the game to Perth.  The Lions then found their grove, kicking six out of the next seven goals to take a six point lead at the first break.

Subiaco failed to make the most of their opportunities in the second quarter, kicking 2.4 to the Demons four straight goals.  This saw Perth go into the main break just one point ahead.

When Raymond Daniels kicked his third goal of the game the Lions restored their lead but when the Demons kicked four out of the next five goals, Subiaco were trailing by 14 points.  Late goals to Michael Wood (2) and Daniels helped claw the Lions back and they managed to hit the front and lead by five points going into the last quarter.

Three final quarter goals to Brennan Stack and singles to Michael Florio and Paul Bevan helped Perth break away from a very determined Subiaco outfit.

Jarrad Kayler-Thomson continued his good form and against his former club had 22 disposals and kicked two goals.  Daniels kicked a career best four goals while debutant Wood kicked two goals.

The other major ball winners for the Lions were George Hampson and Brett Mahoney who had 20 possessions each.

First Quarter
The Lions were poor in the opening six minutes but then started to hit targets which resulted in them kicking six goals to five and taking a one goal lead at the quarter time break.
Second Quarter
Both sides were playing ordinary football in the early part of the second quarter before Perth captain Paul Bevan was able to kick a goal in the square for the Demons.  Kayler-Thomson then kicked his second goal of the match before Perth was able to kick three straight goals.  A late goal for the Lions saw them trail by one point at the main break.
Third Quarter
Subiaco hit the lead early in the third quarter when Daniels kicked his third of the game.  Goals then to Stack and Jackson Sketcher gave Perth the lead back.  Subiaco then kicked four of the next six goals through Simon Moore, Wood (2 goals) and Daniels to give the Lions a five point lead at three quarter time,
Fourth Quarter
The Demons kicked the first two goals of the last quarter through Stack and Florio to give them a seven-point lead early on.  From there Perth but their stamp on the game with Bevan kicking his third and Stack kicking his fifth and sixth goals of the match to seal a 25 point win.
