The Subiaco Colts have gotten their season back on track with an 86 point belting of Swan Districts at Medibank Stadium today.
The Lions were deadly accurate in their seventh win of the season; with the win lifting them to second spot on the Colts ladder, albeit momentarily.
Key position player Cody Grace was the stand out goal kicker of the day, booting five goals alongside leading-goalkicker Rhys McAlister who had four.
The game was won in the midfield though with brilliant displays across the board by Subi from players like Joshua Deluca, Connor Wilkinson, Corey Buscall, Liam Ellis and Greg Clarke.
Midfielder Joshua Deluca put on a clinic to record a 14 inside 50’s by the final siren. That’s not a typo… Deluca was Subi’s path to goal a whopping 14 times, so it’s no surprise the Lions accuracy rating was 71%. Deluca is an outstanding decision maker.
YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME
Rhys McAlister has been the lone ranger for the Lions over the last few weeks, bearing the goal-kicking load against South Fremantle and Claremont. Today Cody Grace put his hand up to supply the Lions with some goals with five goals; most from set shots. With crumbing goals and quick snaps Rhys McAlisters forte, this duo could be dangerous in the back half of the season.
WRIGLEY LITTLE FELLOW
The Subiaco football club would like to congratulate Chris Wrigley on his first game for the Subiaco Football Club. After transferring from Peel Thunder earlier this season, Wrigley found himself in the forward line for his first game as a Lion; racking up 15 possessions and two goals.
