Another year, another opportunity. This has never been truer for the Subiaco Colts brand of upcoming talls.

After a successful year in 2013 with multiple key position players excelling, 2014 proves to be even more exciting with some of these fledgling Colts players getting their chance to become a force in the competition.

With the WAFL talls Academy about to commence in February, our very own Subiaco talls program continues to flourish under the guidance of Subiaco’s development coach Tim Grose and Head Coach Steve Armstrong.

The structured program, which commenced well before the Christmas break, has evolved over the past few seasons with all the current players exposed to the program at some stage over the last few years, whether it be at Colts level or development squad level.

Subiaco fans can look forward to the development of our up and coming key position players, with our tall prospects excelling in the preseason.

Players who have impressed so far include Colts emerging ruckman Adam Creeper and 2013 swingman Tom Hooper. Both of these boys have Colts game-experience already but are being constantly pushed by a host of younger players to ensure a high standard.

Ben Evans is training hard and the young kids in their first Colts season such as Jay Green, Jayden Gerrand, Zac Bestry and Ben Reid are coming along in leaps and bounds.

One player who has comeback after Christmas in good shape is tall forward Ryan Vermeesch. After a great 2013, his big body and footy smarts will become an asset in a young Colts side looking for further success.

202cm ruckman Ashton Williamson also provides an exciting prospect; becoming a regular fixture at training to hone his craft as a ruckman.

With the talls program to run throughout the 2014 season, you will only see this boys grow in stature and confidence.

Graduates from Subiaco’s Colts talls program include exciting League ruckman David Madut, Colts 4th placed B&F winner and ruckman come forward Jordan Bestry and 2013 Colts Captain Declan Jackson.
