Lions Buzz: Round Three
- Tuesday, 07 April 2015
The stage was set at Medibank Stadium for a Good Friday show-down but unfortunately for the Lions they didn't get the memo.
East Perth arrived with a bit of extra vitriol with memories of Subiaco sinking them in the 2014 premiership; and the Lions struggled to find a response.
As the Royals stars blasted away Subi felt the brunt of an action packed week take it's toll. The Lions were without leading goal-kickers Matt Boland and Chris Deluca along with star half-back Wayde Twomey who missed late with a groin injury.
The talent packed side of East Perth forced Subi into a style of play they often enforce themselves, applying considerable pressure on the ball carrier and forcing rushed decisions. This equated to Subiaco getting far less quality ball and far less time to create which was illustrated by a lopsided disposal count , 418-260, in favour of the Royals.
Despite the one sided encounter approximately 4000 showed face to Medibank Stadium and social media was buzzing with banter from the annual Good Friday show-down.
