No Time To Rest

Subiaco don’t have a game this weekend but will prepare for Round One of the 2016 WAFL Mcdonald’s Season nonetheless.
The Lions are the only WAFL team with a week off before the season but Football Manager Daniel Vidovich is adamant the group won’t rest on their laurels.

“The boys will be training on Saturday so there’s not much room to rest,
“We try to prepare with the same professionalism every week despite the byes,
“Nothing really changes on the off-week despite the absence of a game so we generally run on the same schedule.” said Vidovich
The Lions won both of their pre-season tests against West Perth/Swan Districts but more importantly; remained relatively injury free.

“We got through the pre-season relatively un-scathed; Hayden Kennedy and Greg Broughton both pulled up sore after West Perth/Swan Districts respectively but are tracking well.”
We don’t want to rush them, as these injuries tend to worsen if the process is fast-tracked. But there are no long term concerns.”  Said Vidovich
Subiaco defender Hayden Kennedy is on track for Round One.
Subiaco play Peel in their first game of the 2016 WAFL McDonalds Season at Bendigo Bank Stadium next Saturday.

“Not having a game is handy because it offers some of those players a chance to freshen up and we’re firmly focused on Peel next weekend,
“We have a lot of talented players fighting for 22 spots so there's going to be some long nights in the lead up to the Thunder.” Added Vidovich
