International focus for Subiaco

Subiaco Football Club’s top of the table Round 9 clash against South Fremantle had a distinct international feel, as a group of Philippines business travellers enjoyed the game as part of an ongoing tour of Perth by Twin Tours.
While the AFL made headlines this weekend, with their first match played for premiership points in Asia, the Subiaco Football Club also continued to build their international reputation within the Asian region.
“The opportunity for Subiaco to host this group was presented by Andrea Morgan and we saw it as an ideal opportunity to be able to showcase the unique game of Australian Rules and introduce a new international market to the Subiaco Football Club,” said Subiaco’s Corporate Partner Manager Cameron Palmer.
“We pride ourselves on being a proud community based club and to be able to assist the wider Perth community with a venture of this nature was a not to be missed opportunity,” Palmer said.
The visit to Leederville Oval and the Subiaco Football Club is part of a larger initiative that has been arranged by Michael Maher and Paul Rosair from Twin Tours, designed to further promote Perth as an ideal destination for Philippines travellers

The tour group were given the truly unique experience that a WAFL match can bring, with the group getting the chance to kick a footy for the first time on Leederville Oval, get up close to players and coaches at the quarter break huddle and experience the excitement of a WAFL game from high above Leederville Oval in the grandstand.
The visit was capped off by a visit to the historic Subiaco Hall of Fame room where the group was blown away by the level of history and success on show highlighting the Subiaco Football Club.
“The group were thoroughly enthralled across the match and hopefully it will lead to further ventures for Subiaco Football Club,” Rosair said.
“The group are all decked out as Lions supporters in the Subiaco gear they got on game day,” Rosair said, “they have been wearing it ever since.”
Subiaco continues to be at the forefront of innovation in the WAFL and will continue to promote the game of Australian Rules beyond borders as it looks to continue to take the Subiaco Football Club brand to exciting new places.
“WAFL Clubs are constantly looking to evolve and grow so this tour principle represents an exciting new initiative,” Palmer said, “hopefully this can be the start of more international business and be another opportunity to maintain the proud success of the Subiaco Football Club.”
