GAME CHANGERS

EIGHT GAMES IS A LONG TIME IN FOOTY

Subiaco’s dominant start to 2018 commenced with the season opening demolition of this weekend’s rivals East Perth. Subiaco won the Good Friday match in round one by a record 118 points and have since gone from strength to strength. East Perth meanwhile have fluctuated in form over the next two months, but now sit inside the top five and are defending a potential finals spot against the Lions.

DEFENSIVE STANDARD

East Perth have registered the highest score against Subiaco so far in 2018, with their 10.10.70 scored in Round One, still the highest score conceded by the Subiaco defence. Led by leadership group members Hayden Kennedy and Jordan Lockyer, the Subiaco defence has been miserly all year holding opposition sides to just 54 points per game. As seen in Round One though, East Perth pose a dangerous offensive threat.

BIG CROWD

Subiaco and East Perth played in front of the biggest crowd in 2018 so far, with the 3142 fans who attended on Good Friday the most for a game in the WAFL this year. With fine weather forecast and the co-tenants typically drawing big crowds, Leederville Oval is likely going to be the place to be this Saturday.

STRIVING FOR 10

The current winning run of Subiaco over East Perth has stretched to nine, with East Perth’s last win over Subiaco coming in early 2015. Subiaco has had the measure of their cross town rivals in the past three seasons and will be looking for their first ten game win streak over the Royals since the 1980’s on Saturday.
