Memory Lane - Round 17
The weekly ride back memory lane continues with Round 17 looming, take a look back at some famous wins from Round 17's of years gone by.
A pair of big wins over the two East's, Fremantle and Perth, along with a monster win over Perth highlight some famous Round 17 victories.
Dennis-Lane, Robertson, Waters, Willet and Yarran all had bags of goals in these victories, while Broughton, Cossom, Fletcher and Horsley all had big possession outings.

2009
-- Subiaco 94 d 63 East Fremantle --
Regaining premiers Subiaco looked to keep their title defence rolling against struggling East Fremantle. After a poor first quarter from Subiaco, a second quarter bounce back saw them level at the half. The second half would play out in completely different fashion as Subiaco came out firing leaving East Fremantle in their trail. East Fremantle could not keep up with Subiaco, scoring only 1 goal in the second half as Subiaco would come away 31 point winners. Chad Fletcher would put in one of his best performances recording 41 disposals in the win. Subiaco also had great contributions from Trent Dennis-Lane who kicked 4 goals and Marc Webb Who collected 32 disposals.
1967
-- Subiaco 123 d 102 East Perth --
Bottom of the table Subiaco had a big task ahead of them as they faced top of the table East Perth. The match was an exciting but tough and hard fought out match the entire way through. A great first quarter from Subiaco gave them confidence they could win. Subiaco would lead at the end of every quarter and would kick away in the last to record a famous 21 point win. Austin Robertson Jr. kicked an amazing 10 goals in the game, a fete which he would repeat the next year in the exact same round.
1991
-- Subiaco 110 d 109 East Fremantle –
Second seeded Subiaco knew they were in for a tough match when they came up against East Fremantle in the 1991 season. After a closely contested first quarter Subiaco would put the foot down in the second extending the lead at the half to 20 points. A third quarter comeback from East Fremantle set up the last quarter nicely. Both teams would score 4 goals in the last quarter, with the result up in the air in the last quarter no team could gain the ascendency. However, Subiaco would be just good enough on the day to come away 1 point winners. Rod Willet provided a great contribution up forward kicking 3 goals on the day.
2014
-- Subiaco 171 d 98 Perth --
Round 17 of the 2014 season saw Subiaco play host to Perth, in what ended up being another dominating display for Subiaco. Title contenders Subiaco got off to an expected fast start against Perth taking a 37 point advantage into the second half. Perth’ small comeback in the third would be answered by Subiaco in the last pouring on 62 points, leading to their massive score of 171 points. The game was dominated by Kyal Horsley who had 35 disposals and a goal. Rhys Waters and Shane Yarran provided a vital offensive spark scoring 5 and 6 goals respectively.
2008
-- Subiaco 134 d 53 East Perth --
After winning the last two premierships, Subiaco headed into the 2008 season with all the confidence in the world and as round 17 rolled up they were sitting 20 points clear at the top of the ladder with East Perth in their sights. The match would go as expected with Subiaco dominating the whole game, scoring between 25 and 40 points each quarter. East Perth were no match for the free flowing football of Subiaco, who were led by Greg Broughton and Chad Cossom who combined for 70 disposals collecting 34 and 36 respectively.
