Reserves & Colts Help Subiaco to Clean Sweep Top Place
Subiaco once again has the top placed team in all three grades, after both the Reserves and Colts had wins over West Perth on Saturday.
The Colts had their ninth straight victory to consolidate top spot, while the Reserves big win, couple with an upset loss by Claremont, meant that they climbed back to the top of the Reserves table.
COLTS RECAP
The Subiaco Colts are just one win away from the 2018 WAFL Colts Minor Premiership after a dominant 61 point win over West Perth.
The win again came on the back of a miserly defence as West Perth could muster just three goals for the game, going goalless after half time.
At the other end, Subiaco, while missing chances at times, had enough forward potency to extend their lead at every break, powering to a four quarter victory.
Subiaco’s dominance was seen across most statistical categories as the Lions had 353 possessions to 289, 44 hit-outs to 27 and 45 inside 50 entries to 29.
Individually Liam Hickmott had another big game finishing with 36 possessions and laying nine tackles, while Tristan Hobley also reached 30 possessions.
Wil Hickmott had 25 possessions while Abe Clinch had 24 possessions and Adam Vallelonga and Jack Mayo each had 20.
Meanwhile up forward Mayo again led the way with three goals, with Trey Kennedy also kicking three.
Ben Golding and Jordan Faraone each kicked two goals.
Subiaco will get that first chance to wrap up the minor premiership, with a mouth watering clash against last year’s reigning premiers, an in form East Fremantle, next Saturday.
GAME CHANGERS
INCREDIBLE DEFENSIVE RUN CONTINUES

RESERVES RECAP

The majority of the damage was done in the third quarter as Subiaco kicked eight goals to two, building a 72 point lead by three quarter time.
Early in the game, Subiaco’s defence was very good, conceding just two goals in the first half and repelling a number of dangerous opportunities.
Up forward the chief destroyer was Brad Stevenson, who on the return from injury kicked six goals to spearhead the Lions Reserves side.
Ryan Mu was another to standout, finishing with four goals while Ray Daniels, Kaidyn Fullgrabe and Nick Menegola also added two goals a piece.
The Subiaco midfield was led by Daniel Leach and Max Walters as each rebounded from their demotion to the league team in the best possible way with Leach having 30 possessions and Walters having 29 possessions.
With the win, and a Claremont loss to Perth, Subiaco finds itself on top, 16 percent clear of Claremont.
Win their final two games against East Fremantle and Perth, and the Subiaco Reserves will join their senior team counterparts as 2018 minor premiers.
GAME CHANGERS
BOUNCING BACK
