Esperance & Kalgoorlie 2018 Best Recognised

Friday, September 7, 2018 - 9:29 AM

The Esperance Districts Football Association and Goldfields Football League have honoured their best players of the 2018 Season with award presentations in the past month.

The prestigious Hepburn Medal and Mitchell Medal were both awarded with Brendon White of Esperance taking out the Hepburn Medal and Alex Stewart of Kalgoorlie City winning the Mitchell Medal.

For White it was the culmination of a big season, as the standout player of the 2018 year, White also took out the Freddy Curnow Footballer Of The Year and Paddy Rule Leading Goalkicker.

It was a big year for Stewart as well, he had already won the best on ground medal from Goldfields Country Week success and was the second time that Stewart had taken out the prestigious Mitchell Medal.

Other main award winners in Esperance included Corey Bennier who won the Reserves Best & Fairest and Rhys Wood the Colts Best & Fairest.

In Kalgoorlie other main award winners were Jake Littlewood who took the Reserves Best & Fairest and Cameron Graham took out the Colts Best & Fairest.

Graham who played for Subiaco Reserves in 2018, had a standout season with Kambalda and is a player with tremendous upside.

Another debutant in the Subiaco Colts, Jack Borchet was recognised for a great season, winning the Rookie of the Year award.

Borchet like Graham has tremendous potential and is still Colts eligible in 2019.

Some other popular Subiaco names were on the receiving end of awards, with Scott Worthington taking out the Riklan Most Valuable Player award, with Dylan Clarke also finishing top three in this award.

The Subiaco Football Club congratulates all award winners in both Esperance and Kalgoorlie.
