Subiaco Talent Pathway Embrace Kalgoorlie

The Subiaco Talent pathway have continued to actively work with and grow the game in the Subiaco Regional district, with Talent Manager Kristian Dicton headlining a group of talent officials who visited Kalgoorlie this week.

 

Dicton alongside WAFC Talent Pathway Manager Mick Ablett and WAFC Coach Coordinator Tony Micale spent time earlier this week in the norther heart of Subiaco’s regional district.

 

The visit was made in conjunction with a match between Subiaco’s Goldfields Lion Pride Academy going up against Comet Bay.

 

In a hotly fought contest, highlighting the considerable talent of the Subiaco regional, the Goldfields Lion Pride Academy were able to prevail by 10 points, 7.5.47 to 5.7.37.

 

Following the game, a coach education session was run with 20 local coaches and 40 local players in attendance.

 

As part of this session, highly respected coach Micale ran the attendees through the importance of fundamental skill development and attention to detail.

 

At the end of the session players where presented with a new Lions Pride Academy Shirt acknowledging the hard work of all players within the academy.

 

Also as part of this trip funding was secured from the City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder for a WAFL Colts fixture to be held in the town on August 10th.

 

This development and fixture will allow Subiaco and the WAFC to continue to give back and support the Kalgoorlie region whilst also being able to bring high quality WAFL Colts football to the regions.

 

Subiaco Talent Manager Kristian Dicton was quick to acknowledge the ongoing support offered by key stakeholders within the region.

 

“This trip and game wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support of John Walker, Chief Executive Officer of the City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder, Brendan Simpson, Goldfields Football League Commissioner and Gemma Harrison, Regional Development Manager,” Dicton said.

 

“We continue to be humbled by the outstanding support that is offered by all the local stakeholders and volunteers who work tireless hours to promote and cater for our regional visits.”

 

The Subiaco Football Club also thanks Mick Ablett and Tony Micale for willingly offer their time and support for the club’s regional development.
