Subiaco celebrated Member Appreciation Day on Saturday with a host of activities going on around Leederville Oval to support Members.
While Subiaco saw their lengthy winning run come to an end, Members were still front and centre in the mind of the Subiaco Football Club.
The main feature of the day was the Member Appreciation Day President’s Lunch.
Over 110 guests were assembled in the Leederville Sports Bar & Function’s Centre getting the opportunity to hear from guest speakers including Holman Managing Director and former test cricketer Wally Edwards, Subiaco State Under 18 duo Nick Martin and Tristan Hobley and Subiaco Colts Coach Chayce Creedy.
As well as part of the function, a roaming mic was around with a number of long time and newer Subiaco members speaking about their passion of the club, their favourite games and favourite players.
The club through director Basil Fuller also made a special presentation of a personally signed Diehards book for Les Wearne.
Les who is due to celebrate his 100th birthday in August, has been a Subiaco fan since birth, one of few living members who can attest to being at the club’s 1924 premiership.
Wearne was joined by family members at the luncheon, as special guests of the Subiaco Football Club.
Elsewhere as part of Member Appreciation celebrations, the club launched a brand new app.
The Subiaco App, plans to give fans even better access to the club, with a match centre, player profiles, surveys and polls as well as exclusive offers to the club and partners of the club allowing members to get more benefit from their membership and support of the club.
Premiership mugs, premiership shirts, kids wear, stickers and posters were all part of the match day specials and giveaways as members flocked to the team store to get these specials.
During the breaks, the Gold Box Challenge returned with kids winning new Subiaco/SKG branded footballs.
Balga Junior Football Club were in attendance as the junior club of the day and contested the half time little league contest.
Following the game, members unanimously passed a motion to update the Subiaco constitution, with all those in attendance in favour of the proposed changes.
