Thursday nights clash with Perth at Mineral Resources Park was under lights, as Subiaco recorded a 58-point win against Perth in clear conditions, continuing the Lions winning streak since falling to South Fremantle in round six.

The Lions dominated from start to finish with 25 scoring shots, as they ran out with a 15.10 (100) to 6.6 (42) victory. 

23-year-old Subi forward Ben Sokol was on fire, booting seven majors and racking up 21 disposals (18 kicks, three handballs) and 13 marks.

Lachlan Delahunty topped Subi’s disposal count again and continued his fine form with 23 touches, 15 hit outs and four marks, while Kyal Horsley and Max Walters finished with 21 disposals each.

Angus Litherland, Jordan Lockyer and the Subiaco defence were instrumental in the victory; keeping the Perth forwards to six goals all game from 12 scoring shots and 45 Inside 50s (four less than Subiaco).

In his fourth WAFL game Ryan Vermeersch kicked three majors, with Max Walters kicking two and individual goals to Justin Joyce, Rhys Waters and Greg Clark.

Subiaco sit top of the WAFL League ladder – four wins and a sizeable percentage ahead of Claremont, pending the result from this week’s Peel v Claremont match.

Subiaco play Swan Districts back at home at Leederville Oval on Saturday 10 August at 2:15pm.  Swans play West Coast tomorrow at Steele Blue Oval and will be looking for a win.
