COLTS
Subiaco finished their 2019 campaign with a come from behind win against East Perth at Leederville Oval on Sunday.
The First quarter was an arm wrestle with both sides having opportunities forward of centre but failing to capitalise. Abraham Clinch, Jed Kemp and Connor Patterson all worked hard for the lionsEast Perth continued to press and if it was for Subiaco’s Defensive line including Chayce Grabe-Paperone, Lachlan Henderson and Jackson Martino they could have put the game to bed..
The Third quarter Subiaco got back into the contest but once again struggled to convert on the scoreboard. Blake Morris, Noah Ash and Skipper Jacob Peletier started finding plenty of the ball and kept the lions in the match.
The final term saw East Perth get on the board first and get out to a 3 goal lead. Subiaco like the previous weeks continued to believe and push forward rolling the dice. Enter Ben Golding in a match-winning performance Ben had 11 possessions and kicked 3 goals in the final term with 1 being about 30 secs before the final siren.
GAME CHANGERS
Chayce Grabe-Paperone. The rejuvenated defender played an outstanding final game down back. Very good in 1 on 1’s and worked hard running the ball out.
Connor Patterson. Connor has had a fantastic back half to the season playing in a variety of roles and always giving 100%. His physicality around the contest especially in the second half was a contributing factor getting the lions back in the game.
Ben Golding. Best player on the ground and his final term was one for the ages. 11 possessions and 3 goals won the match for the lions to top off a consistent year for the lions has to bring him into considerations for the Jack Clarke medal.
