Wheeler hangs up the boots
Subiaco would like to thank Clancy Wheeler for his services at Subiaco since debuting Round 11 against Perth in 2011. Wheeler has decided to hang up the boots after winning his fourth WAFL Premiership this past weekend.
Wheeler has been known as a Subiaco Lions fan favourite after establishing himself as one of the most versatile players in the league. Wheeler has won four premierships playing anywhere from the forward line, back line and even the ruck. The Newtown Condignup product has also represented WA throughout his career.
31-year-old Clancy celebrated game 150 against South Fremantle in Round 11 of the 2019 Optus WAFL Premiership Season, before heading overseas mid-way through the season after Round 14. After returning to Perth, Clancy was then selected to play in the 2019 Optus WAFL Grand Final, finishing with a goal, nine disposals, two tackles and three marks.
Throughout Wheeler’s career he has played a total of 154 WAFL league games, averaging 14 disposals, 4 marks and 2 tackles while kicking a total of 109 goals in his career.
