Nichols Building Team Announcement: Potential return for Forwards
This Saturday, Subiaco will take on West Perth at Provident Financial Oval, with bouncedown at 2.30pm
Ryan Borchet may return after kicking 6-goals in the reserves match v East Fremantle last week, while Harry Marsh might also play since round 2 v Swan Districts.
Final team announcement via WAFL website at 5pm tonight.
Ones to Watch:
In his second game back from a long-injury layoff Rowen Powell was slightly below his best as the Lions tore apart East Fremantle last weekend. The hard-running Broome product will be better for the run and will continue to build towards his peak fitness at the right stage of the season. The Lions are on the charge this season and will look to Premiership players like Powell to perform strongly in their pursuit of a three-peat.
Liam Hickmott was ultra-impressive is his second League game for the club. The 21-year-old gathered 24 disposals and eight tackles in a performance that earnt him a position in the WAFL Team of the Week. The young midfielder will be eager to keep putting strong performances on the board in a bid to hold his place and play in a Finals series with the club.
West Perth key-forwards Tyler Keitel and Michael Lourey have enjoyed a strong season so far, combining for four goals a game on average. Shutting down this pair will go a long way towards a Lions victory, so look for Angus Litherland and Aaron Heal to lead from the front and take control of their backline unit as the Lions attempt to restrict the scoring of the Falcons.
Leigh Kitchin has played an integral role in Subiaco’s rise to form through the later part of the 2020 Season. The 2017 Club Best & Fairest has been in sparkling form across this period; amassing at least 20 possessions per game in the last month of footy while averaging more than five tackles in that period too. He is an integral cog in the Lions midfield and will once again impact the game both with and without the ball.
