Vanirsen caps off memorable season with Taylor Medal

Lachlan Vanirsen has elevated himself into rare air this season by claiming the quadruple of the Jack Clarke Medal, both a Premiership medallion and the Mel Whinnen medal and now the Taylor Medal after being crowned Subiaco’s Best & Fairest winner for Season 2020.

Vanirsen entered the awards ceremony as a clear favourite after a fantastic season that has seen him average more than 23 disposals from his 11 matches this year. The 17-year-old Vanirsen was remarkably named in the bests in all but two of his matches this season as the Warwick Greenwood product claimed the medal over his peers by some distance. 

Vanirsen has been the dominant midfielder of the entire Colts competition in season 2020, going on to average 23.6 disposals, 6.3 marks and 4.6 tackles per match, while also pushing forward to kick eight majors from his 11 matches this season. 

Vanirsen has put his name up in lights in a season in which he has won every possible accolade, having also earned himself selection in the State U/18’s squad last month for his efforts and named in the 2020 Simply Energy Colts Team of the Year. 

The club would like to congratulate Lachlan on what has been an absolutely tremendous season for both himself and the rest of his Colts teammates who were crowned premiers for Season 2020, after defeating Claremont by 59 points at the weekend.
