Mayo rejoins Lions
Jack Mayo has joined the Subiaco Football Club for the 2021 Optus WAFL Premiership Season, after being delisted by St Kilda in early October.
Mayo was selected by St Kilda with pick No. 8 in the mid-season rookie draft in 2019, on the back of an impressive 18 months at Subiaco; kicking 50 goals in 2018 for the Colts and debuting in round five of the 2019 season against Swan Districts.
Jack Mayo didn’t manage to play a game for the Saints, and missed the 2020 Season after rupturing his left ACL in a scratch match against Carlton in late July.
Mayo joins the Club whilst still in rehabilitation, and will look play towards the back half of the 2021 Optus WAFL Premiership Season; in a bid improve his chances of being re-drafted onto an AFL list.
Mayo is powerful in one-on-one contests, has speed to break away from his direct opponent, and is a precise kick for goal. He also covers the ground very well and is able to take plenty of uncontested marks and is also a great field kick.
We look forward to seeing Mayo in Maroon and Gold once again.
