Meet our new Coaches: Jamie Battigelli
We sat down with new reserves assistant coach Jamie Battigelli to find out a bit more about himself, asking some hard-hitting questions.
Name: Jamie Battigelli
Nickname: JB or Butters
Position: Reserves - Backs
Past Football Experience (Coach/Player/etc): Been around the amateur comps for about 15 years. Kingsway, Stirling & Scarborough as a Player. Various coaching roles with Wanneroo, Mt Lawley, Noranda and most recently as the League Coach of Swan Valley from 2018 to 2020.
What brought you to Subiaco in 2021? I wanted to take the next step with my coaching and felt like it was time to enter the WAFL ranks, thanks to working in the same office as Lachie Delahunty & Rowen Powell I was able to get an opportunity to meet with Beau & Dicko and the rest is history. Personally, Subaico was always the place I wanted to land if I was lucky enough to get a role due to its successful past and being the club I have supported my entire life.
Thoughts of the squad so far this pre-season? It has been clear from the day I started that, Beau, the other coaches and players are determined to right the wrongs of 2020 and make it an outlier in what has been a successful period for the club. Everyone is unified in this and it will be exciting to see this come out on the footy field.
Aims for 2021? Play my role in developing and assisting all players become the best they can be on and off the field and get the club back to winning flags in all grades.
