WAFLW Round Five v Swan Districts
This Sunday afternoon will see Subiaco face the undefeated Swan Districts in what will be a tough contest away at Steele Blue Oval, with bouncedown at 5pm. Swan Districts have been in top form the last couple of weeks, highlighted by the 28 point win against last years Premiers Peel Thunder in round 3 of the WAFLW Season.
FORM
Subiaco started the season on a good note in round one with a close win against South Freo, however have not managed to secure a win in the past three WAFLW games, going down to Peel Thunder, East Freo and Claremont last weekend by 20 points at Leederville Oval.
Subiaco have led in the first quarter, three out of the four games played this year, however have then only won three out of 12 of the remaining quarters.
Accuracy had improved in the game against Claremont, with the Lions kicking 4.2 (26) at 66.67% accuracy, however the Tigers were too good, having an additional five scoring shots at 63.64% to finish with 7.4 (46).
OPPONENTS FORM
Swan Districts are the premiership favourites this year, and with good reason. Defeating Claremont in round one by a goal, smashing South Fremantle by 53 points in round two and then going on to defeat reigning premiers Peel Thunder in round three by 20 points. In a 2019 WAFLW Grand Final rematch, the Swans got up by 28 points last weekend against the Sharks in Fremantle.
This weekends game will be a true test for the Lions, with hope they can knock the Swans off their podium and get their season back on track.
LAST TIME THEY MET
Last time the Lions met the Swans was back in round 3 of the 2020 WAFLW Optus Premiership Season at Steele Blue Oval, where the Lions won by 27 points in mostly cloudy conditions.
Accuracy was from the Swans, having 7 scoring shots for only 2 goals. Whilst Subiaco finished with a 42.85% conversion rate, kicking six goals from 14 scoring shots.
Abbey Dowrick was clinical, finishing with three goals for the game and only one behind, as she led the charge for the Subiaco forwards.

Subiaco finished with four goal kickers: Abbey Dowrick finishing with three whilst Jacqueline Toth, Charlie Thomas and Kia Buckley all finishing with one major each.
