Golds - April Meeting

Great attendance, great guest speaker, great player interviews and a great meal (lamb roast) by Golds in house providers, “MickanBaz” catering resulted in this function being rated as one of our best.

Guest speaker Marc Webb (175 games, 4 premierships, club captain and Simpson Medalist) related his many club experiences and highlights during his nice year playing career and his football involvement after his playing retirement. He spoke enthusiastically of his current position as WAFL Head of Coaching and looked forward to the many challenges.

Player Guests –

Leigh Kitchin (Club Captain) – Kitch as an excellent club ambassador highlighted aspects relating to this season’s expectations and detailed to members on several promising new players currently listed.

Kyle Stainsby – Kyle was introduced as last years Outridge Medalist and a local district player from the Carine club. He revisited his last years achievement and disappointment of not making finals but certainly saw positive results being achieved this season.

Lewis Putt – Lewis (20 years) joins the club as a promising ruckman. He played amateur football at Scarborough last season and participated in their grand final success. He previously was prominent at Water Polo with interstate and international experience. He looks forward to a successful association with the Lions and commented on the professional structure of our football operations and the solidarity within our player group.

Angelo Porcaro has been reenlisted as Fines Master and wasted no time in finding targets while bringing entertainment to this segment.

Subiaco Club Members are welcome to join Golds and be part of a club activity with objects to assist player requirements at all levels.

To complement our activity, we have a monthly dinner meeting to include guest speakers from our coaching panel, club officials or prominent sports people together with current player interviews.
