ONES TO WATCH
Jack Beverley has been ticking along nicely for his two league games of this season so far. He made his first league appearance for 2021 against Claremont in round 6 where he did a number on one of the league’s most valuable players in Jye Bolton, keeping him to one of his lowest games in terms of numbers around the game all whilst Jack kept himself in the game with 17 touches and six tackles. More so, last week against the Swans Beverley had another 12 possessions but as the tackle machine that he is had team high nine tackles bringing his total to 15 for two games.
2019 Bernie Naylor Medallist and one of Subiaco’s dearest and top players, Ben Sokol will be available for selection this week after being out for three weeks due to calf soreness. Sokol has tallied 10 goals of the season from just his four games he’s played. Coming off having a spell on sidelines means a fresh, ready to go and daunting presence up forward for Peel’s defence.
Ex- AFL star Brandon Matera is likely to play make his league debut for Subiaco this week after an impressive display last week and now being available after being sidelined for the start of the season due to injury. Bar the preseason fixture earlier in the year, Matera had his first hit out of the season and only on for limited minutes, he had 16 touches, four marks and two goals. Look out for him in his new colours this week, playing amongst some of his old teammates.
