2021 Subiaco Coaching Academy
On Tuesday night, Subiaco Football Club hosted the first session of the Subiaco Coaching Academy for the 2021 season. The session was run by Seniors Head Coach, Beau Wardman and Colts Head Coach, Chayce Creedy with all junior coaches within the Subiaco metro and regional districts invited to attend either in person or remotely via Zoom.
The first session was a theoretical coaching information forum. Beau and Chayce covered in depth learnings from basic football skill fundamentals through to designing training drills to simulate game situations. The teachings from this session were ideal for community coaches to take away and implement at their local teams.
The session was run from the Leederville Sports Bar and Function Centre and could be remotely accessed and recorded online so that regional coaches could still be involved in discussions. There was a good turnout of coaches in person but especially online, probably due to the poor weather outside.
Subiaco’s Talent Manager, Stuart Berryman said “the Coaching Academy is a great way for Subiaco to give back to local and regional clubs.”
“Our district football clubs provide us with so much by developing the next of our athletes. The Coaching Academy allows Beau and Chayce to pass on their knowledge and skills to local coaches to help develop their teams as well as the developing the future stars of Subiaco FC. Thanks to all the coaches who attended the session and hopefully all involved were able to take away something from the session to use at your training sessions.”
The information session is the first of the Coaching Academy sessions with the next being a more practical session allowing coaches to see firsthand the skills and drills being performed.
Subiaco acknowledges our local clubs Balga, Carine, Kingsley, Kingsway, Sorrento-Duncraig, Stirling, Warrick-Greenwood Junior Football Clubs as well as our regional districts Goldfields Football League and Esperance Districts Football Association.
