WAFLW Round 15 Recap
Subiaco played their last game in the 2021 WAFLW home-and-away Season and at Leederville Oval this past weekend and they did not disappoint, knocking off East Fremantle by two goals and securing a finals position for a third consecutive year in the WAFLW competition.
Subi capitalised on an inaccurate Sharks team during the first term to finish up by four points at the first break. Subi managed to extend the lead to five points by half time, with both teams having six scoring shots.
Subi blew the Sharks out of the water in the third, kicking 3.1 to East Freo’s 1.0, to lead by three goals going into the last quarter. The Lions lost the last quarter 2.2 to 1.2 but managed to close out the game winners.
This is the third game in a row that the Lions have won, so will look to go into the finals series with a bit of confidence.
Amy Hunt was the only multiple goal scorer with two majors, while Maggie Maclachlan, Abbey Dowrick, Jaime Rust, Hayley Corlett and Dahna Lee all kicked one.
