Subi debut two in NAIDOC round
In some further exciting news this week, Joshua Robbins and Oskar Matthews are both set to make their League debut against Perth, both of which fresh to the club last year.
Josh, originally from Scarborough Junior Footy Club, started his WAFL career back in 2018 at Claremont where he played 17 Colts games for the Tigers before making his way into the Reserves in 2019. Since making the switch to Subi, Robbins has settled in nicely to his role up forward, not missing a game thus far and has looked confident enough where he’s at to put his hand up for selection this week. Robbins will certainly be a valuable addition to the team as another scoring option and presence around the ball. Congratulations Josh.
Oskar, who started the season a little later due to injury, will be running out for the first time along the league boys this week after an impressive campaign in the Ressies. Oskar started his stint in the WAFL in 2016 at Swan Districts after kicking off his footy dream at Hills Rangers Junior Footy Club. Having only been at Subi for bit over 18 months, Matthews has knocked the door down to book his spot in the big time after he had an outstanding 2020 season winning the Reserves Best and Fairest award. A neat 199cm, Matthews adds another handy option in the middle and an imposing presence around the ground. Congratulations Oskar.
