Team Announcement v East Fremantle

Team's have been released for the games against East Fremantle this weekend at Leederville Oval. Bouncedown for league is at 2.10pm

The ‘Hickmott’ Name 

After both coming from Sorrento-Duncraig Junior Footy Club the Hickmott Brothers Wil (20) and Liam (22) made the way to Subiaco in 2016 where they’ve spent the last five years making their way up through the ranks to playing WAFL league footy now. 

Both have now found their feet in the league side after being in and out through previous seasons and are in great position to see their careers thrive wearing the Maroon and Gold. 

This season Liam has been enjoying his fair share of the ball averaging 16 disposals and six tackles a game bringing a big chunk of the team’s intensity each week alongside the ‘professional tackler’ Greg Clark. Wil is also ticking along nicely with 17 touches and five marks average for this season. They’re also identical in individual scores both with 7.2 contributions. The brothers weren’t involved in the league success back in 2019 but look to be primed for the big moments and to combine for hopefully a memorable finals campaign.      

Marching Martin

The young forward from Noranda Junior Footy Club still early in his football career has really shown his worth and has come into his own these last two years. Nick Martin has snuck up behind Sokol in the back half of this 2021 season sitting on 21.11 with three games to go. However, Martin has been a key inclusion in Subi’s jam packed formidable forward line particularly in his true breakout league season in 2020 claiming the club’s leading goal kicker at season’s end.

Averaging 15 disposals six marks and nearly two goals a game, Martin is one valuable member of the team and it will be critical for him keep this clean form coming throughout the finals series coming up.
