1st Semi Final Match Recap v Swan Districts
That winning feeling didn’t stop with Subiaco’s League side over the weekend as Reserves nailed their semi-final winning 11.11 (77) to 8.5 (53) against Swan Districts.
The game started as a tight contest and remained that way until time became a factor and Swans couldn’t keep up in the final stages of the game.
Scoring shots alone, 22 to 13, showed how Subi were comfortably on top for the game even if the scoreboard told a different story. Inside 50's also telling of the supply being beneficial in the end, Subi having 42 to Swans 30.
Matthew Johnson was Subiaco top ball-getter getting his hands on the ball a total of 27 times and not too far off him, Corey Robinson had 23 touches, 6 marks and five of those inside 50's. Jack Beverley had a terrific 9 tackle, 19 disposals and one-goal game, as did Lewis Putt with identical figures but add 20 hit outs to his impressive display.
It was Jordan Faraone that had five looks at goal for 2.3, Jake Stergiou with two straight and seven individual goalkickers.
A team effort sees Subi progress to this Saturday for hopefully a preliminary final win.
Game starts midday (12pm) at Fremantle Community Bank Oval post-Colts Prelim and prior to League in the afternoon.
