2022 WAFL Fixtures Released
For the 2022 season, the WAFL has released the first nine rounds of the season where every team will play each other once. This decision was made to allow for flexibility if a COVID outbreak occurs in Western Australia. If all goes to plan the second block of fixtures will be released by Round 7 of the WAFL home and away season.
The 20-round home-and-away season will be followed by a four-week finals series, with the WAFL Grand Final scheduled to be played on Saturday, October 1 at this stage with the venue to be confirmed. Fresh from the resounding success of moving the Grand Final to the week after the AFL Premiership decider last year, the WAFL is confident the same timeline will provide an ideal finish to the 2022 season.
Round 1 provides the much-anticipated Grand Final Re-Match between Subiaco and South Fremantle at Leederville Oval.
The WA Football Commission is working closely with the SANFL to continue the tradition of the KIA Australia State Game with the intent to play the game in mid-May at Optus Stadium.
WAFL Pre-Season fixtures are scheduled to begin on March 26.
