Futures: Lions perform under lights at Leederville Oval
Last Friday under lights at Leederville Oval saw Subiaco Futures take on West Perth in what turned out to be an exciting match of football.
West Perth got the jump early on Subiaco, who were slow to react to the quick Falcons side. Subi came out the firing in the second quarter led by the best on ground attacking efforts from backman Xavier Hickey, managing to narrowly pull in front at the major break.
Some sharp shooting from spearhead forward Koopa Walsh who ended up with a bag of five, allowed Subiaco to cruise home victors over a strong West Perth outfit. The engine room of Subiaco midfielders created the majority of attacks from Multari and Drewett led by big man Tore Nelson, rucking and finding a lot of possession around the ground.
A shout out must go to step up head coach, Al Gibson, filling in for Stu Page while isolating. He and the coaching team were able to turn around the group, who were looking easy beats in the 1st quarter but finished on top with 10 more scoring shots.
SUBIACO 12 . 16 (88)
WEST PERTH 8 . 9 (57)
