Subiaco are set to be tested when they take on an in-form East Fremantle at Leederville Oval on Sunday April 3.

It’s set to be an exciting contest, as two of the top four teams battle it out on Sunday afternoon.

FORM

The Lions are coming off an all-round team performance last round, taking a 68-point victory against West Perth.

It was a positive step for the group, who were able to maintain their effort over four quarters with the results showing on the scoreboard.

Some inconsistency in early matches has their season at two wins from five matches, where they sit fourth on the WAFLW table.

Subiaco will need to be switched on, as they’re coming up against an undefeated Sharks outfit.

East Fremantle started their season with victories against the two sides who competed in last year’s Premiership in Peel Thunder and Swan Districts, as well as beating ladder leaders Claremont.

It will be a tough battle in the midfield, with Tarni Golisano and Jayme Harken set to go head-to-head with the Sharks’ Ashleigh Gomes and Sharon Wong.

LAST TIME THEY MET

In Round 15 last season, Subiaco took a 12-point win against the Sharks, as they stormed into the WAFLW finals.

Harken was one of the Lions’ best on the day, while Jamie Rust was important in her role last year up forward.

Subiaco have had the better of East Fremantle in recent times, winning three out of the past five games.

ONE TO WATCH

Forward Hayley Corlett has looked impressive in her new role.

After starting the season in defence, she moved to a wing before a push further up the ground to a half forward flank.

Since the change, the Chapman Valley product has been able to show her speed and break away from contests to set up shots at goal.

The 19-year-old has shown she’s capable of finishing it off as well, kicking five majors in the past two games.
