Snadden team-focused after move to Lions
Subiaco recruit Jordan Snadden is ready for “a fresh start” and has his eyes on team success in season 2022.
He comes to the club from East Fremantle, where he played nine league games in 2021.
The 24-year-old was taken by West Coast in the 2015 rookie draft and spent two seasons on the list before returning to his original WAFL club.
The seasons following his return saw both highs and lows, but after finding himself in and out of the Sharks’ best 22 last year, he said a new club was the best way forward.
“I just personally needed a change,” he said.
“Somewhere I thought I was going to be able to have team success because we play footy to win flags.
“Subiaco is a very successful club and I want to be a part of the next premiership.”
A big-bodied midfielder who has the ability to hit the scoreboard, Snadden is a contested player who is determined to make an impact in the maroon and gold.
Since it was announced in December that he would join the club, the former Eagle said he’s been enjoying his time at the Lions.
“Everyone’s been really welcoming, especially some of the older blokes who’ve been awesome to work with,” he said.
“Everyone talks about the culture, but until you’re involved in it, you don’t know what it’s about.
“It’s a fantastic culture, and you can see why the boys love coming to training, playing for Subiaco, and why they have so much success.”
In terms of his own football, Snadden hoped this year would be more consistent and said he hopes to add as many games as possible to his 52 league matches so far.
However, he said his main focus for the year was to help the club to its fourth premiership in five years.
“All my goals, and personal goals are centered around winning a premiership with Subiaco and that's what I’m striving for.”
