WAFLW: Round 11 Match Preview vs South Fremantle
Subiaco will be playing for their season when they take on South Fremantle at Leederville Oval on Saturday April 30.
The clash is an important one for the Lions with momentum a must if the Lions are to be involved in finals action later this season.
It’s set to get underway at 11:40am, and will be the only game they have this year that will precede the men’s WAFL match.
FORM
Despite a loss last week to Claremont, the Lions had a competitive hit out where they were ahead for most of the match.
They won the tackle count, and the inside 50s, but were unable to translate it to the scoreboard.
Subiaco have had one win in their past five matches, including a loss to their opponents this weekend.
South Fremantle are in a similar position to the Lions and sit outside the top four.
However, before their round 10 bye they had two wins in as many games, which is setting up an intriguing game of football this weekend.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The two sides fought just three weeks ago in Friday night action, where the Bulldogs took the four points.
The round eight clash was a disappointing one for Subiaco, who fell by 40 points.
However, the Lions are a different side now to the one that played earlier in April, and will be looking to settle the score.
ONE TO WATCH
Subiaco were lacking polish at times during the first half of the year, but the return of Tiah Toth will be important to the side for the run home.
She provides a sense of calmness to the backline and around the ground, which is a welcomed addition to the team.
Her skills are also high class, and she will be looking to impact from defence to get the ball movement going for the Lions.
Toth is an experienced campaigner and her attitude towards the contest is second to none.
