WAFLW: Round 15 Match Preview vs East Fremantle
Subiaco will have their biggest test of this season to date, when they take on the Sharks at New Choice Homes Park on Sunday May 29.
It will be a heated contest when the Lions look to continue their winning streak against top of the ladder East Fremantle.
Percentage is the only thing separating the Lions from a spot in the top four, as the regular season nears its end.
FORM
Subiaco have made it three wins in their past three matches, heading into the final rounds of the season.
The side grew in confidence following wins against South Fremantle and Swan Districts, before a 35-point victory over West Perth in wet and windy conditions.
While the Lions have turned their fortunes around, they are taking on the WAFLW’s form team in a true litmus test for the side.
East Fremantle have won 11 games in a row, and are yet to lose in season 2022, so the Lions will need to be at their best to cause an upset.
LAST TIME THEY MET
It was a disappointing day out for Subiaco back in round seven, falling to the Sharks by 50 points at Leederville Oval.
The match was all blue and white, as the Lions struggled to get authority in the match.
Despite the loss, Clare McCarthy was a shining light, and enhanced her reputation as a solid lockdown defender.
ONE TO WATCH
In an important clash for the side, it's important for Subiaco’s leaders to stand up and fly the flag.
Tarni Golisano has been in good form all season, but her numbers in the past few weeks have gone to another level.
In the past three games, she’s averaging 27.7 disposals and 4.3 inside 50s, while last week she laid an impressive 15 tackles.
Equal first in most disposals (229) along with fellow Lion Jayme Harken, Golisano will be looking to have an impact against the Sharks.
