Subiaco completed a remarkable come from behind victory, defeating Peel Thunder by five points at Lane Group Stadium on Saturday.
It was a game of momentum, where both sides caught fire at different stages of the match.
After Peel led by four goals at the first break, the Lions fought back to lead by 10 points at half time.
However, the Thunder fought back, and led by as much as 27 points in the fourth term.
With nothing to lose, the magnets were flipped, and Filimone Muavou was put as the deepest forward to great effect, kicking two of his four goals in the last 15 minutes of the match.
Backman Jake Stergiou was the hero, putting through the goal to get Subiaco over the line.
Trey Kennedy was one of the Lions’ best on the day kicking two goals from 16 disposals, while Rylie Morgan was influential with a game-high 23 touches and two goals.

With Subiaco and Peel sitting in second and third respectively prior to the round commencing, it was set to be a thrilling contest.
However, the Lions found themselves on the losing end of the result, falling by 17 points.
The Thunder worked their way to a 37-point lead during the third quarter, but their inaccuracy threatened to keep Subiaco in the game.
It was too tall of a task in the end, as Peel took the 7.21 (63) to 7.4 (46) win.
Midfielder Jack Gouge gave it his all for the Lions with 19 disposals and six tackles, while Rory Murison was strong with 21 touches and four inside 50s.
Meanwhile Dylan Cordier took eight marks in defence to go with 19 disposals.
