Reserves: Semi Final Match Preview vs South Fremantle
mThe reserves will be raring to go in their clash with South Fremantle, with only the winner progressing to the Preliminary Final.
It means the two sides will give it their all at Revo Fitness Stadium on Sunday September 18.
FORM
If last week’s performance is anything to go off, Subiaco are firing on all cylinders heading into the match.
The Lions have won three out of their past four games, including a comprehensive 73-point win over Swan Districts in the Elimination Final.
It’s a settled side, and one that will look to threaten should they go deep into September.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs also finished the season strongly, but lost their Qualifying Final match up against Claremont.
With South Fremantle’s league side bowing out of the finals hunt last week, their reserves will be fired up to take home some silverware come season’s end.
LAST TIME THEY MET
It was round 18 the two sides last faced off, and it was the Lions who prevailed.
Subiaco took control of the game early, but the Bulldogs showed plenty of fight.
They got themselves back into the contest, and got within two points during the final term.
However, Trey Kennedy converted for goal, in what ended up being the sealer.
Corey Bellouard was a standout on the wing, while Bailey Holt stood tall in defence.
ONE TO WATCH
Subiaco’s Patrick Mullane flies under the radar, but is as important as anyone to the team’s success.
A natural interceptor, his ability to read the play and find himself in the right spots goes a long way to helping out the team defence.
He’s averaging 13 disposals and six marks in the past three games, and will look to have an influence against the Bulldogs.
